Water is life – light is life
The Water Light Festival takes place for the first time in Brixen this year and lasts from 5th to 21st May 2017 daily from 9 pm in Brixen / South Tryol.
The numerous cultural as well as historical treasures of the old city combined with the high water competence have been the reason to initiate the Water Light Festival. In a unique way, visitors can discover the different water locations in Brixen. Highlighted with light installations of the French artists Spectaculaires, the creators of Soliman’s Dream, the various sites and objects in Brixen, which are part of the culture and history of Brixen, will receive a completely new expressiveness and the city transforms itself into a superlative light show.
More than 20 fountains in the old city centre, which will be highlighted with light as well as art installations, the impressive location of the confluence of the rivers Isarco and Rienza, which will become a musical stage, and sites where the visitors can participate themselves and become part of the festival are part of the daily programme of the festival. Connected by a blue line and further side programme, the visitors can explore the festival and get inspired by the fascinating topic water & light.
The highlight of the festival: a fascinating light and music show of the light artists Spectaculaires – Alleumeurs d’Images, the creators of Soliman’s Dream.
Poetry – art and music of the Spanish composer izOReL, arranged especially for the show, will take you daily in the world of water. In a special location, the former jail “Tschumpus”, a hidden courtyard in the heart of Brixen, you will encounter the life of water. Let yourself be enchanted by breathtaking colours and wonderful music and become part of the thrilling underwater world with all its facets.
